JR East to Operate All-Night Trains on Six Major Lines in the Tokyo Metropolitan Area on New Year’s Eve

To provide greater convenience during the New Year’s holiday period, JR East will operate all-night train services from New Year’s Eve to New Year’s Day (December 31, 2025 – January 1, 2026) on six major lines in the Tokyo metropolitan area.


Service Overview

Yamanote Line (Inner & Outer Loops)
Service hours: around 1:00 a.m. – 5:00 a.m.
Interval: approx. every 10–25 minutes

Keihin-Tohoku/Negishi Line (Sakuragicho – Omiya)
Service hours: around 1:00 a.m. – 4:00 a.m.
Interval: approx. every 15–70 minutes

Chuo-Sobu Local Line (Mitaka – Chiba)
Service hours: around 0:20 a.m. – 4:40 a.m.
Interval: approx. every 15–120 minutes

Chuo Rapid Line (Mitaka – Takao)
Service hours: around 0:50 a.m. – 4:30 a.m.
Interval: approx. every 40–120 minutes

Yokosuka Line (Yokohama – Zushi)
Service hours: around 1:00 a.m. – 5:00 a.m.
Interval: approx. every 80 minutes

Sobu Main Line / Narita Line (Chiba – Narita)
Departures from Chiba: 1:20 a.m., 3:10 a.m.
Departures from Narita: 2:10 a.m., 3:49 a.m.
Note: Trains will not stop at Higashi-Chiba Station.
