Kintetsu will begin operating its new “8A Series” trains on October 7, 2024 (Monday). These trains will serve the Nara, Kyoto, Kashihara, and Tenri Lines, offering the following unique features and amenities:
Features and Amenities
- Large Luggage Space
Each car has two areas near the crew door in the middle of the car designated for passengers with large luggage. There are stoppers to secure suitcases and bags, providing a safe and convenient spot for baggage. - Semi-Automatic Doors
During long stops, especially in hot or cold weather, passengers can individually operate semi-automatic doors to maintain a comfortable indoor temperature. - L/C Seats
The seats in the train can switch between longitudinal seating (side-by-side) and cross seating (face-to-face) according to passenger needs. Some cars have a combination of both seating styles. - Advanced Air Conditioning System
The new air conditioning units offer enhanced cooling power and adjust with door openings and closings. Additional temperature sensors ensure fine temperature control, especially during extreme heat. - Onboard Security Cameras
Each car has four security cameras. If an emergency alarm is activated, live camera footage is sent to the crew and command center to allow immediate monitoring of the onboard situation.
