Here is the latest information regarding the Tokaido Shinkansen operations on August 31
Mishima Station to Nagoya Station
- Due to forecasts of heavy rain and strong winds, operations will be suspended from the first train until the end of the day.
Tokyo Station to Mishima Station
- Due to continuous heavy rain, there is currently no prospect of resuming operations. There is a possibility that operations may be suspended for the entire day depending on weather conditions and inspection results. Information on the resumption of operations will be provided around 10:30 AM on August 31. If operations resume, trains will run approximately two "Kodama" trains per hour in each direction, with all seats being non-reserved.
Nagoya Station to Shin-Osaka Station
- From the first train, approximately two "Kodama" trains per hour in each direction will run with all seats being non-reserved. Regular timetable operations will not be conducted.
Other Information
- There may be prolonged suspensions of service due to sudden changes in weather.
- Please avoid traveling the entire route between Tokyo Station and Nagoya or Shin-Osaka Stations until full resumption of Tokaido Shinkansen services.
- Direct services between the Tokaido Shinkansen and Sanyo Shinkansen will be suspended for the entire day.
