The JR Group will begin sales of the “Seishun 18 Ticket” and the “Seishun 18 Hokkaido Shinkansen Option Ticket” for the 2025 winter travel season on Friday, November 28, 2025.
Seishun 18 Ticket (3-Day and 5-Day Versions)
The Seishun 18 Ticket allows unlimited travel on local (普通) and rapid (快速) JR trains’ non-reserved seats, JR-operated BRT lines (in certain sections), and the JR West Miyajima Ferry throughout Japan.

Tickets must be used on consecutive days and are non-transferable once activated.
Non-JR Railway Lines Accessible with the Seishun 18 Ticket
The ticket may also be used on certain non-JR lines when directly connecting with JR lines, limited to travel within the same day.
Partial stopovers are allowed only at designated stations.

Seishun 18 Hokkaido Shinkansen Option Ticket
This optional ticket supports travel between Honshu and Hokkaido when used together with a Seishun 18 Ticket.
It allows one-way, one-time travel over the following route:

Each Seishun 18 Ticket is valid for one traveler only.
Shared use or combining two child fares per ticket is not permitted. -
Once the ticket is activated, it cannot be transferred, loaned, or refunded.
