JR West 2025 Timetable Revision Overview (March 15, 2025)

JR West to Implement Timetable Revisions on March 15, 2025 (Saturday)

Sanyo Shinkansen

  • Increased Service for the Temporary "Sakura"
    A new temporary "Sakura" service departing earlier than the regular "Mizuho" will be introduced from Kagoshima-Chuo Station, allowing passengers to reach Shin-Osaka Station in the 9 AM hour for the first time.

  • Additional Temporary "Nozomi" Services
    Two additional temporary "Nozomi" trains will be added in each direction during peak hours. Moreover, a new "Nozomi" service will be scheduled to depart later than the final regular "Nozomi" bound for Hakata Station.

  • N700S Business Booth Cars
    All "N700S" trains operating daily, as indicated in the timetable, will feature cars equipped with business booths.

  • Changes to "Nozomi" Car 3 and Restrooms
    All "Nozomi" trains will have Car 3 designated as a reserved-seat car. Additionally, some shared restrooms in odd-numbered cars of the 16-car formation will be converted into women-only restrooms.

Hokuriku Shinkansen

  • Increased Temporary "Kagayaki" Services
    Two additional temporary "Kagayaki" trains will be added in each direction between Kanazawa and Tokyo. One of these services will be scheduled to depart later than the final regular "Kagayaki" bound for Tokyo Station.

Conventional Lines

Paid Seat Services

  • Expansion of the "Rapid Ureshiito" Service Area
    The "Rapid Ureshiito" service will expand to include the Biwako Line, JR Kyoto Line, Sagano Line, and JR Takarazuka Line. Additional trains will also be added on the JR Kobe Line, Nara Line, and Sanyo Line (Hiroshima area).

Expo 2025 Access Transportation

  • Operation of the "Expo Liner"
    A direct service, "Expo Liner," will be introduced between Shin-Osaka Station and Sakurajima Station. Passengers will be able to transfer to shuttle buses at Sakurajima Station to reach the Expo venue.

  • Increased Expo Access Train Services
    Additional trains will be introduced for easier access to Expo 2025, with:

    • Extra services in the morning and evening on the Osaka Loop Line
    • Extra services at night on the JR Yumesaki Line
    • Extra services in the morning on the Hanwa Line

JR Kobe Line

  • Increased "Raku-Raku Harima" Commuter Limited Express Services
    An additional round-trip service will be introduced on weekdays during commuting hours for "Raku-Raku Harima", improving convenience for commuters and students.

Rapid and Local Trains

  • Additional Trains for Hiroshima’s New Station Building "Minamoa"
    Extra trains will be added mainly during daytime hours on weekends and holidays on the Sanyo Line and Kure Line, providing easier access to Hiroshima’s new station building, "Minamoa".

Other Changes

  • Revised Service Route for the "Uzushio" Limited Express
    The "Uzushio" Limited Express, which currently runs between Okayama and Tokushima, will have its operation changed to run between Takamatsu and Tokushima instead.
