Inubosaki (Cape Inubo) – Chiba

Located in Choshi City, Chiba Prefecture, Inubosaki (Cape Inubo) is a scenic coastal cape known for its dramatic ocean views, historic lighthouse, and early sunrise. It faces the Pacific Ocean, making it one of the first places in Japan’s main islands to see the sunrise, especially popular on New Year’s Day.

Access

  • Take the Choshi Electric Railway to Inubo Station, just a short walk to the cape

  • From Tokyo:
    JR Sobu Line or Narita Line to Choshi Station, then transfer to the local Choshi Dentetsu Line
    (Total travel time: about 2.5–3 hours)
