Tokaido Shinkansen Operation Plan Due to Typhoon No. 10 (as of 13:20, August 28)
With Typhoon No. 10 approaching, the Tokaido Shinkansen has announced potential service disruptions. Although no shutdowns are scheduled for August 29, rapid weather changes may cause some trains to be canceled or delayed. Between August 30 and September 1, there is a possibility of planned shutdowns and long-term operational adjustments on all or part of the line. Service disruptions may also occur on September 2.
Passengers are advised to monitor weather updates, train operations, and consider adjusting their travel plans. Reserved seats are recommended, but availability may be limited.
Ticket Change & Refund Service
- IC Cards or QR-Tickets: Use your mobile phone for changes or cancellations.
- Paper Tickets: Use ticket vending machines or visit a JR ticket office for changes or cancellations. Note: Some tickets (e.g., those issued by travel agencies) cannot be canceled at the ticket office.
No fees will be charged for changes or refunds of tickets valid from August 27 to September 1.
