Kintetsu Railway has completed the renovations at Ogura Station on the Kyoto Line in preparation for the opening of the "Nintendo Museum"!

Kintetsu Railway is currently renovating the nearest station, Ogura Station on the Kintetsu Kyoto Line, in preparation for the opening of the "Nintendo Museum," scheduled for October 2, 2024. The renovation aims to provide exhibits that allow visitors to experience the history and charm of the Kintetsu Kyoto Line.

  • Completion Date: September 21, 2024

Main Renovation Features:

  1. Nara Electric Railway Scenic Map Display:
    • Panels showcasing famous locations along the Kintetsu Kyoto Line from the era of the Nara Electric Railway will be displayed on the wall of the up (Kyoto-bound) platform.
  2. Kintetsu Limited Express Poster Gallery:
    • A gallery of posters resembling the sides of Kintetsu Limited Express trains will be installed on the wall of the up platform, highlighting the allure of vintage limited express trains.
  3. 18400 Series FRP Exhibit (Down Platform):
    • An FRP model of the 18400 series train, which operated primarily on the Kyoto Line from 1969 to 2000, will be displayed on the down (Yamato-Saidaiji-bound) platform. Visitors can board the model for photos, and by downloading a dedicated app from a QR code located near the model, they can enjoy AR videos featuring the model in motion, simulating the experience of operating a train.
