JR East has announced that it will operate overnight train services on seven lines in the Tokyo metropolitan area from New Year’s Eve, December 31, 2024, to New Year’s Day, January 1, 2025.

Details of Overnight Services
Yamanote Line
- Section: Inner and Outer Loops
- Operating Hours: Around 1:00 AM – 5:00 AM
- Service Frequency: Approximately every 15 minutes
Keihin-Tohoku & Negishi Line
- Section: Sakuragicho – Omiya
- Operating Hours: Around 1:00 AM – 4:00 AM
- Service Frequency: Approximately every 15–50 minutes
Chuo-Sobu Local Line
- Section: Mitaka – Chiba
- Operating Hours: Around 12:30 AM – 5:00 AM
- Service Frequency: Approximately every 10–50 minutes
(Interval information is based on the Nakano–Nishi-Funabashi section)
Chuo Line Rapid Service
- Section: Mitaka – Takao
- Operating Hours: Around 12:30 AM – 4:30 AM
- Service Frequency: Approximately every 30–110 minutes
Yokosuka Line
- Section: Yokohama – Zushi
- Operating Hours: Around 1:00 AM – 5:00 AM
- Service Frequency: Approximately every 80 minutes
Ome Line
- Section: Tachikawa – Mitake
- Departure Times:
- From Tachikawa: 2:19 AM, 3:20 AM
- From Mitake: 3:20 AM, 4:38 AM
Note: Trains will not stop at stations between Miyano-Hira and Sawai.
Sobu Main Line & Narita Line
- Section: Chiba – Narita
- Departure Times:
- From Chiba: 1:20 AM, 3:15 AM
- From Narita: 2:10 AM, 3:54 AM
Note: Trains will not stop at Higashi-Chiba Station.
