JR Central to Launch New Hybrid Train Series “HC35”

Central Japan Railway Company (JR Central) has announced the upcoming debut of the HC35 Series, a brand-new hybrid train that combines environmental performance, safety, and passenger comfort. A total of 19 two-car sets (38 cars) will be built and rolled out gradually between FY2028 and FY2029. As the next-generation fleet for conventional lines, the HC35 is set to enhance energy efficiency while supporting smoother regional mobility.

  • Exterior Design: Inspired by the modern 315 Series, with sleek lines expressing the speed and dynamism of the Rapid Mie.
