The coupling of the Tohoku Shinkansen's Hayabusa-Komachi No. 6 detached, leading to a suspension of service between Tokyo and Shin-Aomori. Operations resumed at 1:00 PM after the issue was resolved.

Regarding the incident where the coupling of the Tohoku Shinkansen's Hayabusa-Komachi No. 6 detached, JR East announced on September 19 that inspections of both train cars have been completed. Following this, they plan to resume moving the cars to Sendai Station at reduced speed. Due to this incident, operations on the Tohoku Shinkansen between Tokyo and Shin-Aomori have been suspended, but services are expected to resume around 1:00 PM on the same day.

The incident occurred around 8:10 AM on the same day between Furukawa and Sendai, where the train made an emergency stop after the coupling detached while in motion. JR East has confirmed that there was no derailment, but it is highly unusual for couplings to detach during Shinkansen operations.
