Starting this winter, the Seishun 18 Kippu will be updated with a new '3-day' ticket format. However, the ticket will no longer permit multiple people to use it or allow it to be divided for separate trips.

On October 24, 2024, JR Group companies announced a renewal of the "Seishun 18 Kippu" for the winter season. In addition to the traditional 5-day ticket, a new 3-day version will be introduced. Starting this season, the ticket will also be usable with automatic ticket gates.
