Due to construction work near Tamachi Station, service on the Yamanote and Keihin-Tohoku Lines will be suspended from April 19 until around 12:00 p.m. on April 20.

JR East to Conduct Track Switching Work near Tamachi Station for the Haneda Airport Access Line (Tentative Name) from Saturday, April 19 to Sunday, April 20, 2025

Due to construction related to the development of the Haneda Airport Access Line (tentative name), JR East will carry out track switching work near Tamachi Station from Saturday, April 19 through Sunday, April 20, 2025. As a result, some Yamanote Line and Keihin-Tohoku Line services will be suspended or reduced.


■ Construction Overview

  • Period: From the first train on Saturday, April 19 to around 12:00 p.m. on Sunday, April 20, 2025

  • Work details: Track switching construction near Tamachi Station for the Haneda Airport Access Line

  • Affected lines: Yamanote Line, Keihin-Tohoku Line

  • Note: Even if the work is postponed due to weather or other reasons, train suspensions will proceed as scheduled.


■ Service Suspensions and Reductions

Yamanote Line

April 19 (Sat):

Outer Loop (Clockwise): Ueno – Tokyo – Ōsaki section will be suspended all day.

Inner Loop (Counter-clockwise): Ōsaki – Tokyo – Ueno section will be suspended from the first train until around 5:00 a.m.

From around 5:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.: Trains will run at approximately 70–80% of the normal schedule.

April 20 (Sun):

Inner and Outer Loops: Ōsaki – Tokyo – Ueno section will be suspended from the first train until around 12:00 p.m.

Other sections will also see reduced service.


Keihin-Tohoku Line

April 19 (Sat):

  • Higashi-Jūjō – Shinagawa: Service suspended all day.

  • Ōmiya – Higashi-Jūjō: Trains operating at about 60–80% of normal frequency.

  • Shinagawa – Kamata: Operating at about 70–100% of normal frequency.

April 20 (Sun):

  • Higashi-Jūjō – Shinagawa: Suspended from the first train until around 12:00 p.m.

  • Ōmiya – Higashi-Jūjō: Trains operating at about 60–80% of normal frequency.

  • Shinagawa – Kamata: Operating at about 70–100% of normal frequency.


■ Alternate Transportation

During the construction period, alternate transportation will be provided on the following lines. Valid JR tickets or commuter passes for the affected sections can be used for travel.

  • Keikyu Line (Sengakuji – Yokohama, all Airport Line)

  • Tokyu Lines (All lines)

  • Seibu Railway (All lines except Seibu Tamagawa Line)

  • Odakyu Electric Railway (All lines)

  • Sotetsu Lines (All lines)
