Peach Aviation operates from Terminal 2 at Kansai International Airport, which is separate from the main Terminal 1 building. If you're flying with Peach for the first time, you may be wondering how to get to Terminal 2 or whether it's easy to find.

The good news is that reaching Terminal 2 is simple. After arriving at Kansai Airport Station by JR or Nankai Railway, you can take the free airport shuttle bus, which takes approximately 10 minutes to reach the terminal.

This guide explains everything you need to know before your flight, including how to get to Terminal 2, where to catch the shuttle bus, check-in procedures, baggage tips, and important deadlines. With step-by-step instructions and photos, even first-time visitors can navigate the airport with confidence.

One more thing to keep in mind is airfare pricing. Even for the same Peach flight, ticket prices can vary by several thousand yen depending on when you book. Comparing fares in advance and checking Peach's official promotions can help you secure the best available price for your trip.

This article will walk you through the entire process step by step in a simple, easy-to-follow way.

Difference Between Terminal 1 and Terminal 2

Kansai Airport has two main terminals:

  • Terminal 1: Mainly used by major airlines such as JAL and ANA
  • Terminal 2: Mainly used by low-cost carriers (LCCs), including Peach Aviation

👉 Kansai Airport Station, where both JR and Nankai trains arrive, is directly connected to Terminal 1.

👉 To reach Terminal 2, you will usually need to take the free shuttle bus. (It is technically possible to walk, but it is not recommended.)

How to Get to Kansai Airport Station by Train

From Osaka, you can use the following train services:

  • JR Kansai Airport Rapid Service / Limited Express Haruka
  • Nankai Railway (including the Rapi:t airport express)

Both JR and Nankai trains arrive at the same station: Kansai Airport Station.

Important: Which Direction to Go After Exiting the Ticket Gates

  • Left → Terminal 1
  • Right → Terminal 2 / Shuttle Bus

① Exit the Ticket Gates and Turn Right

The signs for “Terminal 2” are very clear, so it’s hard to get lost.

② Walk Through the Passage Toward Aeroplaza

Along the way, you will pass through Aeroplaza, a complex with hotels, restaurants, and convenience stores.

  • Moving walkways are available
  • The entire route is indoors, so you can walk comfortably even on rainy days

③ Turn Left Inside Aeroplaza

Once inside, you will quickly see signs for:

👉 “Free Shuttle Bus for Terminal 2”

The shuttle buses run every few minutes, so waiting times are usually short, even during busy periods.

④ Take the Escalator Down to the 1st Floor

Continue straight and take the escalator down.

⑤ Board the Free Shuttle Bus

  • Travel time: Approximately 7–10 minutes
  • Frequency: About every 5–7 minutes
  • No reservation required / Free of charge

Because the buses operate frequently, you usually won’t have to wait long.

⑥ Arrive at Terminal 2

After getting off the shuttle bus, the entrance to Terminal 2 will be directly in front of you.

Please note that LCC check-in procedures at Terminal 2 are very strict.

If you arrive within 30 minutes of departure (50 minutes for international flights), you will generally not be allowed to board.

Many travelers underestimate the time required for check-in, so it is highly recommended to understand the process in advance.

Important Check-In Rules for Peach Passengers

Please note that Peach has very strict check-in deadlines.

Check-In Times

  • Self-service check-in kiosks: Available from 90 to 30 minutes before departure
  • Mobile app check-in: Available from 120 to 30 minutes before departure

👉 Once there are fewer than 30 minutes remaining before departure, check-in closes and boarding will no longer be permitted.

Security Screening

  • You must clear security at least 25 minutes before departure. Even being one minute late may result in denied boarding.

Recommended Arrival Time for Peach Flights

If you are flying with Peach, we recommend:

  • Arrive at Kansai Airport Station at least 2 hours before departure
  • Allow about 10 minutes for the shuttle bus ride
  • Leave extra time for check-in and security screening lines

👉 Many passengers miss their flights because they underestimate the transfer and check-in process.

What Changed in the 2026 Renovation?

(Photo:Kansai Airport)

In April 2026, Kansai Airport Terminal 2 underwent a major renovation.

Main Improvements

  • New CT-equipped security screening area
  • Improved passenger processing capacity (up to 1,400 passengers per hour)
  • Expanded waiting area (approximately 20% larger)
  • Additional restaurants and dining options

👉 Security screening is now much smoother, significantly reducing waiting times and congestion.

New Shops and Restaurants

  • Japanese restaurant “Kagonoya”
  • Café “Azusa Coffee”

👉 Additional dining options, including ramen restaurants, are also planned.

Common Mistakes to Avoid

❌ “I can just go to Terminal 1”

→ Peach flights depart from Terminal 2.

❌ “I can easily walk there”

→ Most passengers use the free shuttle bus.

❌ “Arriving 30 minutes before departure should be fine”

→ At that point, it may already be too late to board.

❌ “I need to check the shuttle bus timetable”

→ Shuttle buses run every 5–7 minutes, so there is usually no need to worry.
