On March 3, 2025, JR Central, Japan Rolling Stock Manufacturing, and Katsumi announced the launch of a crowdfunding campaign to create a 1/45 scale (O gauge) display model of the "Doctor Yellow (T4 Series)," which retired in January 2023. A total of 923 units will be produced.
This display model will be created with full cooperation from JR Central, utilizing the railroad model production scheme of Japan Rolling Stock Manufacturing. The technical expertise of Katsumi, a long-established manufacturer of model railway vehicles, and Japan Rolling Stock Manufacturing, which holds the original manufacturing blueprints for the vehicle, will come together to achieve a highly detailed and realistic reproduction of the car.

Display model features:
- Production: Using actual vehicle manufacturing blueprints, Katsumi will create the model with faithful attention to detail, including color, markings, and onboard equipment, to match the real car.
- Remote control: The model features sound effects such as the horn, signaling lights (white and red), and the ability to illuminate the cab and attendant room lights.
- Detailed reproduction: The front-facing camera, equipment room, aisles, and other intricate details will be faithfully recreated.
Manufacturer’s plate and vehicle type diagram plate:
- Manufacturer’s plate replica: A 1/1 scale replica of the manufacturer’s plate attached to the real car, produced using the same materials, size, and manufacturing methods.
- Vehicle type diagram plate: Made from recycled aluminum, a laser-engraved plate of the T4 series car 7 vehicle type diagram will be included in the special set.
